Fresh from their successful September tour, ENSEMBLE ICC is ready to hit the road again! Comprised of the country’s foremost young musicians, Ensemble ICC is a powerful new music band that will have premiered over 35 new works in just a few months. Ensemble ICC is the dynamic performing wing of the Irish Composers’ Collective and is a forever shape-shifting enterprise, adapting chamaeleon-like to the needs of the music and composers, at times embodying the stately elegance of a classical chamber orchestra, at times radiating the energy and drive of a rock band. With a commitment to pioneering work with electronics and diverse performance practices, Ensemble ICC is thirsty for the deep unknown.
The Irish Composers’ Collective (formerly the Young Composers’ Collective) was founded in 2003 and is committed to producing high-quality performances of music by its composer-members. An entirely democratic group, the ICC has over 35 members from backgrounds as diverse as jazz, electronica and traditional music. The ICC is a true community, providing support structures for composers and is, in particular, devoted to the professional development of those composers at the earlier stages in their careers.
