Beale Street Blues Bar has been open almost a year now and was previously mentioned here. They’ve got some great weekly bands/sessions and the odd visiting act. Right now we don’t list weekly events on the main page to keep it clear and concise, but I wanted to put these somewhere they would be seen. So…

Klaas, Annet and Ger did a fantastic job in reviving, revamping and relaunching a place which – legend has it, please confirm or deny the info – had quite a reputation for being rough. There’s live music pretty much every night, a very good P.A., spare guitars, guitar amps and a bass guitar with amplifier for whoever wants to join the jam session on any given Thursday. The room upstairs has also a nice stage and lends itself to powerful live acts. Certainly my judgement is biased: the Blues bar gave my band the opportunity to come out and play in public for the first time – we picked up from there on – and gratitude is a fact, a virtue and nothing to be ashamed of; nevertheless, I invite everyone to come and make up a mind for themselves. Thumbs up
