Cork x Southwest is a new and unique one-day music festival that will take place in the picturesque West Cork town of Skibbereen on Sunday 5th August.
This very special festival features exclusively bands and djs from Cork city and county (apart from the odd ‘Blow-In’) and also features ‘slow food’ and artisan stalls showcasing the best cuisine and arts and crafts Cork has to offer.
Beginning at 1pm, the festival will feature ‘Cork Rocks’ on the Main Stage with top class acts like The Frank & Walters Fred, Stanley Super 800, John Spillane , Mick Flannery, Interference, Matt Churchill, and Mobeius.
At the same time the best of Cork djs will be spinning at ‘Cork Non-Stop’ in the Electronic Tent with acts such as Fish Go Deep with Tracey K, Chymera, Bodytonic Dj’s, Rulabula Dj’s, Paul Griffin & Andrew Philpot, Colm Motherway, and Pascal Jacob
Cork is the biggest and obviously the best county in the country with a vibrant and current music scene. We feel the time is right to hold a festival that celebrates this excellence, by bringing together a selection of the very best acts Cork has to offer, and present them in an intimate setting in the colourful market town of Skibbereen where the sun always shines.
Make sure to book early as the numbers are strictly limited to ensure attendees may wander freely in the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of The Showgrounds and enjoy a truly unique musical event.
Buses will run from Cork city and all the towns in West Cork for the day. Or why not make a weekend of it in West Cork?
